The miniseries revival achieved more than 50 million viewers so far, and set new ratings records in multiple markets.
• In the United States, “My Struggle” delivered 20.3 million viewers (Live+3), a 25% increase in total viewers vs Live+Same Day (16.2 million viewers), surpassing the original series’ most-watched season (19.8 mil average in Season 5). The premiere had a 7.8 rating with adults 18-49 – growing by +27% vs Live+Same Day (6.2), and marking television’s third-highest premiere this season in Live+3.
• In Canada, it debuted as the most-watched series premiere of the 2015-2016 season with 2.4 million viewers. “My Struggle” delivered the largest audience of any episodes of The X-Files on record in the country.
• In Europe, new ratings records were set across FOX channels, including Finland (“My Struggle”), Serbia (“My Struggle”) and Poland (“Founder’s Mutation”), where the show appeared as the most-watched episode ever on the FOX channel.
• In Latin America, the first two episodes’ average matched or surpassed the Season 6 premiere of The Walkind Dead in several countries including Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Mexico in the 18-49 demo. In Argentina, it broke a 3-year national record in the 18-49 demo (3.71 rating during “My Struggle”) and ranked #1 amongst 18-49 during both episodes.
Recent/upcoming premieres in some major markets – United Kingdom, Germany, France, Australia and India – will surely add millions more viewers.
